Bayous and crawfish...

We decided to leave the rest of the Texas exploration for another time, and continue east, and even bypass Houston this time. We are perhaps both running out of steam, and except for the Alamo, were a bit underwhelmed by San Antonio.  So we hit the road and soon were seeing signs indicative of the Deep South,  where we have never been.  I don't think the route we have chosen this time provides as much opportunity for exploration, or diversion for  oddities or roadside attractions. Now, Clem may be just as happy about that, but for me, not so much!! There is no doubt that the anticipation of something exciting fuels my energy and enthusiasm.

So we crossed over into Louisiana, and found a campground for the night. 12 oaks was convenient, and nice enough, and had street signs on the rows, and cute little lamp posts and park benches. We stayed on the corner of Easy Street and Elvis Blvd, under the full moon. Clem was very excited to discover that they had over 100 channels! We had dinner in, and I am sure we fell asleep watching TV after a long travel day.

  1. Yes, you do sound a bit tired. Two weeks is just about it for us. And you had all those fabulous sights in Utah and NM.
