Robert Leroy Parker, alias Butch Cassidy, was head of these outlaws, who became the most successful train robbing gang in history, and are said to have hidden out in the canyons near here Though they were known as Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch, he and his friend Harry Longabaugh, alias the Sundance Kid, were made popular by the 1969 movie.
